Went to BBTea with Andrea and the gang at Ricco's tonight. We played this board game called "I'm the Boss." It's a pretty interesting game. Basically, there is this board, with about 15+ different business deals there. And there are about 6 investors avaliable. So! in the begining of the game, you draw a card to determine which investor you're going to be, and the game begins.

When the dice are rowed and it lands on a particular deal, the player has the choice of doing the deal or not. The different deals on the board requires different investors to participate in order to make the deal work. So how do you do it? Well, first you'll have to see how much money you're going to make off of the deal, then you ask other investors if they want to participate in this deal by offering them shares of the deal. If the necessary investors agrees to the deal, and nobody else disagrees, well then, the deal is made. However if anyone opposes and have, in their hands, some special cards, they may do things in order to stop the leading player of the turn, aka BOSS, or other players to participate. This may include throwing cards that says a certain investor is on a trip, or even stealing the position of the Boss. At the end, everyone just counts up their money, and the one with the most $$ wins.

This game is a LOT of fun. I definately recommend it to anyone who are interested in board game out there. It's not like a stupid trivia game, where the questions are so random and weird, you just end up sitting there and looking dumb. MUCH interaction is needed for this game. Ideal players, though, would be people who are out spoken, and are not afraid to be a bitch and gang up on other players... or the other way around... ^^;;;

Umm... just found out I've 20 days of trial Xanga Premium... interesting!! I guess I'll just try it out and see how it is.

Anyway, I was over at Izzi's place tonight for dinner (hmmm, the chicken was fantastic) and a stupid chic-flick, which I might talk about it in the reviews, depending on how bored I get. Andrea left soon after the movie, since it was her bed time and all, but I stayed for quite a while. I guess I just haven't really talked to her in a while.

We talked about a whole bunch of stuff, but mainly it revolved about finding a job for now, and our future career. Seems like she's done much thinking on it, and is going to explore on more career options in the near future. On the other hand, since I'm not graduated and will not grad any time soon, I realized that I haven't been giving the subject much thought.

Sure I said, on occasion, that I want to try A out and maybe B is more fitting for me, but those are mostly rambles, which I haven't given much thought to. As of now, a part time job will very much satisfy me, but then I think I will really need a job that may lead to future careers, directly or indirectly.

One thing Izzi mentioned about though, is the TESL test. It basically allows you (if taken the "right" one) to teach English as a Second Language in Asia. Though my English sucks like hell, but I think it' kinda worth a try. Maybe I'll think about borrowing a book or two about the test... or maybe, I'll just go to chapters and sit there for a couple of hours, browsing through their test-prep books... heh...

Was midi searching a little while ago. I wanted to put up a background music on this xanga page, but I couldn't really find the right one, even after searching for about an hour.

Since I couldn't find the perfect song to put up, and I really wanted some sound on my page, I went with Van Hui's song. I was one of my favorite songs some time ago. I thought it would fit well in the background.

Yesterday, Yic said that he finished reading the story I wrote about a year ago, on my website, called "Song of the Mermaid."

This was intended to be a 10,000 word (Chinese) long novel. But somehow when I finished half of it, I couldn't go on anymore.

Remembering the time I started that story, I was able to write quite rapidly. I think my record was finishing a chapter within a day, but as the story progressed, my writing speed slowed down.

By the time it got half way through the story, although I know what I want to write about, the words just wouldn't come out.

And after that, I was not only unable to finish the story, I was able to write properly anymore. Sure I wrote part of the script for CASS drama last year, and a short story for the CASS newsletter, but still... I wasn't able to carry on with any of my longer stories...

Aiii... How I wish that I can get that "spark" again, and continue with my story writings. It's such a waste to just leave it only half finished.

Well, I guess this posting thing won't be lasting for too long. It'll probably be like my livejournal... having a couple of post in there, and then it'll just get forgotten and ignored my me...

Well, let's talk a little about my impression on Xanga. It's very much like livejournal, imo, just that it seems a little more community like, whereas on livejournal, t's more like people are doing their own thing, and others can look and respond if they want, even if they don't know each other.

This maybe because of the long list of subscriptions on the page. For livejournal, you will have to click to see their profile to see their "friends" list, which is very similar to the subscription list on Xanga.

But then, both Xanga and Livejournal has similar functions. Even the price for upgrading your account are the same. Some of the differences, on top of my head, that I think there are between the two is that in the free account, you can still upload a few pictures to the server, but they're only icon. However, when it comes to paid account, you can upload ANY picture (up to 20M) to the Xanga server, but livejournal just let you up load icons, all other pictures will have to be linked from other websites.

Anyway, that's it for today. Guess I'll write my next entry when I remember... :P
